Stories behind the pictures

Radio Road-show

On the Friday and Saturday nights a local radio station set up a stage in the town centre by the church. The Thursday night, a couple of singers came into the Tavern pub a did some songs for us. Pretty good too. Despite their attempts to entice us onto the stage on Fri/Sat, we never made it - more important things to do like drink!

Scandinavian Presence

As you can tell from various pictures for this year, there was a large Scandinavian presence in Cervinia this year. We met a couple of groups of Finnish and Swedish people.

Costume Sharing

It doesn't take long from us entering a busy pub before locals and tourists alike want to put our costumes on! This is why you see so many photos with mysterious sheep in!

Finger Sheep

You may have spotted them around in a couple of other photos - the finger sheep. Originally given to us from the girls up in Longridge near Preston UK, the finger sheep were with the majority of us all week A classic photo of them can be seen above, with three of the perched on top of the pump handles in Lino's pub. One even does a great job of hiding Kev's face, thankfully!

The girls from Longridge by the way are Emma 1, Helen and Lindsy (who's actually a Chorley chick I've been told say on pain of death). Emma 1 we met on the Tenerife holiday way back in 1998 along with Emma 2 (who we don't hear much from these days). Helen and Lindsy are Emma's friends. The flock have been up to Longridge a couple of years back on Boxing day for the annual "pram-push" charity event.
